Hello Nico, tell us a little about your background.

Behind me is a wall, which is useful for sleepless nights or when I think the humanity is a blank piece of canvas that screams to be donned with peppering of paints and caricatures.

What/who inspires you ? What would you say are your major influences ?

That smile on her face. The way that stranger walks. The tired face of the seamstress who is sewing those mini black dresses. Those mathematical theories. Puppies underneath the dinner table of the café beside the street that was sold and repainted yesterday. True abstract that keeps us going. Everything. Even the speck on dust that sits on my mum’s shoulder inspires me.

Have you had any formal education or are you self-taught ?

The world is my classroom and the people are my teachers. The reactions of my viewers are my examination marks.

How do the public and the critics perceive your work ?

They can walk in three directions. With my photographs on a junction, they either turn right in positive emotions or left in candour, or walk straight in ignorance.
